Thursday Night Café is my well of wellness.

Updated: May 28, 2020

It's my zone, my imaginary creative space that I've made real.

This "Café" is virtual and has often been the name of where I have kept my creative outputs since 1999, about 20 years-ish. Back in the late 1990s, when I lived in Ottawa, and before the days of MailChimp email campaigns or e-newsletters, my Thursday Night Café was just that: an e-zine about the local arts scene. It was Canadian Arts, on a Neat-to-Know Basis. Catchy, huh?

There was NO social media at this time. I literally went around the University of Ottawa Graduate cafe/bar called Nostalgica on a regular open-mic night I used to attend: Thursday Nights (coincidence?) and individually asked people if I could have their email address so I could send them my newsletter. Imagine doing that today? People might be offended or a little freaked out.

And now? It's my art gallery, my store and my studio where I plan to welcome artists - maybe monthly - but really, there are no timelines on when an artist is ready to share their work so I leave it open.

Take a look through my ART STORE to see the themes and style. If you think your drawings fit with what I'm doing here, please feel free to submit a 3-5 line bio about you as an artist and 1-2 images of your work with your watermark and/or copyright name on it, if you choose. The worst that could happen is: you receive a reply that says your work doesn't suit the vibe I've created for this site. That's it.
